Edgemere Senior Living is the Gold Winner in the 2022 “Best in DFW People’s Choice” awards in the Best Assisted Living/Senior Living category, according to an announcement published in the Dallas Morning News on November 20th.

“We are pleased to receive this news,” said John Falldine, Edgemere’s executive director. “Our primary focus each day are the amazing residents who live here, and our health care staff who oversee our assisted living services and amenities are first rate at what they do,” Falldine added.

Edgemere, which opened its doors in 2001 as one of the first luxury senior living communities in Dallas, sits between the Park Cities and Preston Hollow neighborhoods. The community is not new to receiving awards, having won several in the last few years, including the American Health Care Association/National Center for Assisted Living Quality Initiative Recognition in 2020.

More than a dozen senior residential communities were nominated in this year’s Best in DFW people’s choice program in the Active Adult 55+ Community, Assisted Living/Senior Living, and Senior Living categories. There were Gold, Silver, and Bronze winners announced in senior living and in more than 300 additional categories. The Dallas Morning News sponsors the “best of” contest each year.

Edgemere is a Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC), meaning it offers multiple categories of lifestyle experiences and healthcare services, including Independent Living, Assisted Living, Memory Care, and Skilled Nursing. The community also offers rehabilitation services.

“This is wonderful news, and we’re honored that the people of Dallas not only nominated us but voted for us to bring about this result,” said Lucinda Gray, Director of Assisted Living and Memory Support. “Our assisted living team is made up of dedicated and compassionate individuals who come to work each day to make the lives of our residents as fulfilling and as happy as possible. This award really confirms their collective commitment to the residents and this community,” Gray noted.
