Dan Harrington, Oak Trace Sales Director, has been promoted to Oak Trace Executive Director, effective December 25. He will be responsible for the overall daily operations of the community to ensure business goals are achieved and drive consistent improvements and deliver quality services that delight residents and enable team members to thrive. Dan will also be responsible for the ongoing expansion at Oak Trace that will add 140 new independent living apartments to the community. He will report to Andy Kazmierczak, former Oak Trace Executive Director, who will officially move into his Regional Vice President Operations role overseeing the Midwest region (Beacon Hill, Claridge Court, Friendship Village of Bloomington, Friendship Village of South Hills, Newcastle Place, and Oak Trace) on January 2, 2023.

Dan is returning to his roots in operations. He has more than 20 years of experience as Executive Director for other senior living organizations. He also worked for many years in the hospitality industry in general manager and operations roles. “Coming to Lifespace to work in sales was a different avenue for me,” said Dan. “It was the Lifespace culture that lured me in. To see the investment that Lifespace is making in our residents to add this massive expansion to our community speaks volumes to how much Lifespace cares about its residents. I knew I wanted to be a part of that.”

A Chicago native, Dan considers his first day in senior living many years ago as the pivotal moment when he knew he was “home.” “I was immediately hooked,” said Dan. “Where else can you have a profession, not just an occupation or career, that enables you to positively impact peoples’ lives. Our residents are remarkable people and working in their home is an amazing opportunity to learn from them, to serve them, and make the community a great place to live.”

“Walking into the Oak Trace sales office, you immediately feel the collaborative and supportive style Dan brings as a leader,” said Andy Kazmierczak. “He listens to others’ ideas and feedback, is willing to learn every day, and builds teams that work well together and celebrate every accomplishment, making Oak Trace a great place to work.”

Dan earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Western Illinois University. He and his wife, Laura, are parents to two grown children – a son and a daughter. He loves to golf, ski, and he plays left wing for the Bulldogs, a local hockey team.
