Joey Mookerjee will join Lifespace on December 19 as Executive Director for our Village on the Green community. He will be responsible for the overall daily operations of Village on the Green to ensure business goals are achieved and drive consistent improvements that delight residents and help team members thrive. He will report into Zach Jacobsen, Regional Vice President Operations.

Hospital administration was Joey’s original career goal. During graduate school, he was required to hold four internships in the fields of acute care, public health policy, insurance, and long-term care. He saved the long-term care internship for last and after just one day, he was hooked. “I had no idea how amazing senior living was and I fell in love with it,” said Joey. “I went back to my professor to see what classes and steps I needed to take to make it a reality.” Joey has worked as an Administrator and Associate Executive Director for several large communities in Maryland and Florida. He also has experience working in home office support roles.

Joey is looking forward to meeting everyone at Village on the Green. “The people I serve and those with whom I work are my favorite part of my job,” said Joey. “I’m also really excited to join an organization that places such importance on creating beautiful, vibrant communities. I can’t wait to help elevate the programs and services that empower our residents to live their aspirations.”

“Residents and team members will find Joey to be both approachable and purposeful,” said Zach Jacobsen. “He understands the importance of communication and being readily available to listen to ideas and concerns. He enjoys collaborating with others, approaches problems methodically, and possesses a driving sense of urgency to get things done to ensure fulfill our promises to our residents and team members.”

Joey earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Albion College and his Master of Health Services Administration from The George Washington University. He and his wife are parents to two children – a son aged five and a three-year-old daughter. They also have two Dachshunds named George Washington and Thomas Jefferson. Joey is a bit obsessed with Christmas lights. He says his home almost rivals Clark Griswold’s home from the movie “Christmas Vacation” and the neighborhood is getting a bit competitive, though he’s won the contest three out of the last four years.

Joey’s first day will be December 19 and he will be in Executive Director training his first three weeks at Village on the Green. During that time, Taylor Spaulding will continue to serve as Interim Executive Director before returning to his role as Administrator at Abbey Delray South. We are grateful for Taylor’s leadership during his time at Village on the Green.
